When I design a garden, I design it from the inside looking out. It is an extension of the interior, both of the home and of the person. Viewing the architecture of a house reveals colors, personal choices in style and usage, giving a glimpse of the lifestyle of those that live within.
Lifestyle is as important as the lay of the land.
I envisioned this being built as a classic antique colonial addition. An antique colonial is tough to expand upon without spoiling its historical charm, but an allée such as this can be the perfect entryway to a side door - A conservatory that adds elegance, without interfering with the remarkable beauty of a classic colonial.
